THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL

A Day of Defiance

Yesterday, a tremor from Hell shook the nations, and their pride defied the heavens. The United Kingdom, Canada, Portugal, and Australia stood before the world and declared recognition of a Palestinian state—as if a covenant that Almighty God made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob could be crossed out with the stroke of a pen. These nations, once shaped by the gospel, were given a golden opportunity to bless God’s Chosen people, and yet they have chosen to act as though His eternal promises to the Jewish people were mere parchment to be torn apart and forgotten. France and others appear ready to follow, but the God of Israel has not changed, and His word does not tremble before the declarations of men.

A Story We Already Know

History bends toward a familiar pattern. Babylon once ruled the world, and Nebuchadnezzar its king rose and fell under the weight of his own pride. After much humiliation he lifted his eyes to heaven and confessed what every ruler must one day confess—that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom He will. But his son, Belshazzar, refused to learn the lesson written into his father’s scars. He took the golden vessels stolen from the Temple of Jerusalem and called for a drunken feast, lifting cups meant for sacrifice to toast his own power. He believed the covenant was finished, that the exile of the Jews was final, that the God who planted His name in Zion had no power to bring His people home.

Then it came—a hand from nowhere, a message from eternity—writing across the palace wall with letters of fire: Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin.

“This is the interpretation of the matter,” Daniel declared. “Mene—God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end. Tekel—you have been weighed in the balances and found wanting. Peres—your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians” (Daniel 5:26–28). That night the empire shifted, and Babylon’s throne was emptied in a single breath.

The Writing Returns

Yesterday’s declarations are not mere politics; they are a spiritual drama repeating itself on the stage of history. The same handwriting glows again. It is no coincidence that on the very day these governments made their reckless proclamation, the hand of God–a memorial service for Charlie Kirk blazed across the internet. The beautiful, God honoring ceremony sent a fiery message to all those who would dare to defy God.  Every life, and every nation is weighed in the balances of eternity. Charlie chose to align himself with God and His will. Even in death, he magnified God. Because Charlie honored the God of Israel, Charlie was honored.

To those who dishonor God by dishonoring His Chosen, there will be much different consequences. It is no secret, the countries who made their anti-God recognition of Jew hatred, are being overrun by wicked ones who wish to destroy them.

A Warning to Modern Hamans

Zeresh, biblical Haman’s wife, warns him: “If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of the Jewish people, you will not overcome him but will surely fall before him” (Esther 6:13). Mordechai was from the tribe of Benjamin. So let the leaders of our day take note. If Benjamin Netanyahu, and the covenant people whom he represents, stand on the eternal promises of the God of Israel, then every policy plotted against them will fail. The handwriting is clear, and the fall of those who defy the covenant is as certain as the sunrise (Jeremiah 31:35-36).

Trumpets, Crowns, and a Call to Return

We now stand in the days that lead to the Feast of Trumpets, when the shofar calls hearts to awaken and Rosh HaShanah invites the world to crown God as King. This is not the hour to close our ears. It is the hour to lift our eyes, to see the writing while there is still time, to repent of pride and align with the eternal word of the Lord.

Bless, serve, love, and stand with Israel–God’s Chosen people.

Shana Tova U’metuka!

(Have a good and sweet new year!)
